According to the official document (F. No. Z/103/2024-AHS-DOHFW), issued on July 1st, 2025, the following mandates are now in effect:
1. Discontinuation of "Paramedical"
All State Governments, Union Territories, and Universities are recommended to stop using the word "Paramedical" in:
Official correspondence and communications.
Advertisements and recruitment notifications.
Training programs and educational materials.
Institutional titles and government portals.
2. Adoption of "Allied and Healthcare"
The term "Allied and Healthcare" (as defined under Section 2 of the NCAHP Act, 2021) must now be used in all forms of usage i.e. verbal, written, or electronic.
3. Immediate Compliance
State Health Departments have been requested to communicate this change to all stakeholders and ensure compliance at the earliest.
